Biblical Examples Of God Training His men

1. Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness preparing for His work in Egypt. 2. John the Baptist spent 30 years in training and had six months of ministry. Jesus spent 30 years in training and had only 3 and one half years of ministry. 3. Jesus was 30 years of before He began His ministry. Before He began, he faced a test – tempted for 40 days. Matthew 4:1-11. (Mark 1:13) And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. (Luke 4:1-2) “And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, {2} Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing; and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.” 4. Paul waited 10 years between the time he was saved and before he preached his first sermon. 5. Even deacons were first to be proved. (1 Timothy 3:10) And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. God commanded us to “lay hands suddenly on no man.” (1 Timothy 5:22) “Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins; keep thyself pure.”

Biblical Commands To Teach

1. One of the qualifications of a bishop is not to be a novice. (1 Timothy 3:6) Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 2. Paul told Timothy to commit to faithful men the things he had learned so that they could teach others also. (2 Timothy 2:2) “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” 3. Peter commanded us to “gird up the loins of your mind.” (1 Peter1:3) “Where for gird your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 4. Paul told Timothy to study. (2 Timothy 2:15) “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 5. Jesus said teaching is 1/3 of the Great Commission. (Matthew 28: 18-20) “And Jesus came unto them, saying. All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. {19} Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; {20}Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen” 6. One of the duties of the Pastor is the training of the members of his church. (Ephesians 5:12) “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:” Practical Benefits 1.Systematic training helps to strengthen the church. Bible knowledge and training help us to fight the devil. (Ephesians 6:14-15) “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet sod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” 2.Training helps to perpetuate the church by providing workers and leaders for the next generation. (2 Timothy 2:2) “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” 3.Training helps to kept he church unified. (Amos 3:3) “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” 4.Training others helps make us better ministers. (1 Timothy 4:6) “If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.”
